If you are looking for a way to get your blog, website or articles to rank higher in Google searches, then follow along as I talk about how to use the very simple, yet powerful Google keyword tool.
The Google keyword tool will help you to drive more traffic to the content that you distribute to sites on the Internet. It allows you to target the kind of traffic that you are trying to generate. For example: If you want to drive traffic to your content that deals with business opportunities, then you want choose a keyword that specifically targets that.
To get started simply search in Google for ‘Google Keyword Tool’ or go to the site directly through this link: Google Keyword Tool
This will bring you to a screen where you can enter a descriptive word or phrase. Fill in the captcha code and enter the word or phrase you want to rank in Google for. Next, a list of keywords related to that word or phrase will come up. This allows you to be able to see how many people used a specific keyword or phrase while doing a Google search. This will give you some idea as to how popular that keyword or phrase is.
Remember to keep in mind that it is usually better to choose a long-tail keyword over a single keyword because your chance of competition lessens dramatically. This especially applies if you are trying to rank for a highly searched word or phrase.
For example, when I use Google keyword tool to search for ‘MLM’ I see that it is searched for a 1,000,000 times monthly. That would be extremely difficult to get your content ranked in the top ten of Google if you just target that. Now if I search for ‘New MLM Companies’ (Long-Tail Keyword) I see that it is only searched for around 2,500 times monthly. You have a much greater chance to rank in the top ten and get your content recognized by those searching for that phrase. Make sense? Good!
After you have found a suitable keyword or phrase for your article, blog post or other piece of content, it is now time to get to work. In the example of using ‘New MLM Companies’ you would start by putting that in the title. Ex: “Here Are The Top 10 New MLM Companies of 2010.”
You want to continue with your article and insert your keyword phrase that you found in the Google keyword tool in each paragraph. I recommend using it once per paragraph and never more then twice. If you have small paragraphs or just a couple of lines then go every other paragraph. You don’t want to over-saturate your article with your keywords.
You can optionally use your keyword as your anchor text once in your article. This would simply entail putting the words you found with your Google keyword Tool and linking it to something else like a video you did on the topic. Ex: Use ‘New MLM Companies’ and link that phrase to a video about the ‘The Top 10 New MLM Companies of 2010.’
The final step is to but your keyword(s) in your tags. I put my main one first and put a couple slight variations of it as well. Like New MLM Companies, New MLM Company, New MLM Companies 2010.
You are now ready to rock and roll and get the new content you’ve created out for the world to enjoy. As you can see, using the Google keyword tool is very simple and highly effective.
